Komodo Dragon Zoo Newsletter
Overview
This is a project to create a newsletter about an animal for the Houston Zoo. It was required to have an illustration of the animal, three sections for typography, only use of two pantone colors (not including black and white), and be child friendly for viewing. The typography had to be easy to read, interesting, and in shorter sentences to allow for all ages to read the content.
Images in context
- The graphic style of the animal and design overall was chosen as a solution to the limited color palette to create depth and color variation.
- The colors were specifically chosen to compliment and emphasis the komodo dragon itself, as they tend to live in more earthy places but their saliva tends to be tinted red from their prey.
- The layout of the animal was chosen to emphasis the tongue and shape of the komodo dragon, as the tongue is one of the features that people remember most as well as their venom.
