Cincinnati Art Museum Annual Report
Overview
This project was the final project for the class Graphic Design 3. The class was tasked with creating an annual report for the Cincinnati Art Museum while using the same images and information. While tasked with the same project, the challenge was creating a report book that was unique from each other and still having the same information that is easily readable. We had to use our knowledge of design to create lockups, alignments, and page decoration that was professional in look and feel.

- The use of bold yet lowered opacity images is for the pages to allow the eyes to rest as well as to create a division between sections.
- Large format type that goes across both pages is used for this same concept, as well as to allow for interesting type lockups.
- The pages create the start of a section, which is emphasised by the use of color for decoration and the color is then used throughout the section to tie each piece together.
- The usage of large imagery that focuses on a section of the artwork creates visual interest for the viewer while also creating a format for information to be laid out.
- The use of hierarchy for the text allows easy reading for a viewer. Specifically with the usage of color, size, and text styling.
- Large blocks of text being broken up into sections, such as titles, authors, quotes, and block text helps the viewer to understand information better and to create more visual interest on the page.
- The usage of grid formatting on each pages allows for cohesive layout and text design.
- Using color and text hierarchy allows the viewer to identify information about each piece as well as their importance to the page.
- Colored blocks act as decoration for the pages, emphasising the grid layout as well as creating space for the viewer to rest and filling space.
